In September, I had the opportunity to travel to Seattle to photograph one of Deutser’s latest sports architecture project at the University of Washington football facilities. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a high-performance athletic environment, designed to support elite athletes through intentional architectural planning, material selection, and spatial flow.
Over the course of three days, my role as an architectural photographer specializing in athletic and sports facilities was to document more than just the physical space. My focus was on capturing the energy, scale, and purpose-built design that define a top-tier collegiate football program. From expansive interior training areas to finely crafted architectural details, the goal was to create imagery that communicates how sports facility design directly impacts athlete performance, culture, and recruitment.
We produced a full suite of high-resolution architectural photography and cinematic video content, giving the design team versatile visual assets for marketing, award submissions, publications, and client presentations. Every image was crafted to highlight the relationship between architecture, branding, and athletic identity—a critical element in modern sports and athletic architectural design.
Between shoots, we fueled up on gallons of excellent Seattle coffee and spent time collaborating with old and new friends, making the experience both creatively productive and personally rewarding.
Here are just a few highlights from the shoot. Huge thanks to Deutser for the continued trust and collaboration. I’m always excited to work alongside architects and designers shaping the future of athletic facilities.
